Let's get Britains future back
My journey, is rooted in hard work and a commitment to making a positive difference. Raised by parents who toiled tirelessly, my father’s socialist ideals sparked my passion for change. I’m indebted to their sacrifices for me and my five siblings. My mum sewed clothes and supported the family so we had food on the table and a secure home where we all could live. I am a carer for my father, who has dementia. He gave so much to our society but asked and expected so little.
My wife’s parents have a long farming tradition, from goats and buffaloes to cows.
Her father grows various crops, such as wheat, rice, and sugarcane, and is also developing expertise in fish farming. I thoroughly enjoy this.
Also, it is lovely to see that they have given land to local people so they can build their houses and live on it. They take care of them financially and support them in other ways. They are trying to build a school where her mother teaches local children.
I’m deeply engaged in the community, home to over 70,000 people. As a media professional and radio presenter, I’m dedicated to providing our community a platform to voice their concerns.
Over the years, I’ve spoken to residents grappling with the pressing issues at the forefront of their minds. The cost-of-living crisis, escalating mortgage rates, and soaring rents. Access to quality healthcare, doctors, schools, and the environment weigh heavily on their hearts. Pollution in our rivers: Water companies are not held accountable, so close to home, we see the rivers that demands particular attention. Transport and the infrastructure to encourage more use of Public Transport.
We must get Britain building again, Switch on Great British Energy, Get the NHS back on its feet, Take back our streets and breakdown the barriers to opportunities.
A Labour Government is desperately needed to address these challeng
With over 20 years of active involvement in the Labour Party and a background as a Councillor and Cabinet Lead for Transport, I support the vision for our country that includes the establishment of a publicly-owned energy company, Great British Energy.
As a Union member of BECTU Prospects and the Community Union, all champion self-employed and freelancers, the game-changing manifesto they worked on with the Fabian Society called the Progressive Plan for Self-Employed People in the UK is transformative.
I am the chair of my local Co-op, and my mission is to tackle poverty, advocate for the rights of asylum seekers and refugees to work and vote, and support family carers who provide invaluable care and support to their loved ones.
Our NHS needs rescuing from the clutches of the Tory Party; proper investment and an honest conversation with the population on levelling up must happen.
I understand the pressures and responsibilities of representing the constituency in Parliament. I’ll fight for more attention from Westminster, ensuring our issues are solved.
I still remember my roots, and with unwavering conviction, boundless energy, and profound dedication, I will work tirelessly to secure victory for Labour in the next General Election.
Together, we’ll stand strong and proud.. That’s what I will do. Hanif
